Lance R. Darden is both a minister of the Gospel and a minister of music. Together the gifts enable Darden to create an atmosphere wherein the Word can take root and deliver the good news with candor, sensitivity and insight.
Darden is a native of Newark, New Jersey and became active in ministry after his high school graduation in 1976. He credits his former pastor and mentor, Bishop James Howard, with laying the groundwork for his future ministry.
Darden received his ministerial license from the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in 1979. He later enrolled at Rhema Bible School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, under the tutelage of the late-Kenneth Hagin.
Upon graduation from Rhema Bible School in 1989, Darden was compelled by the Holy Spirit to join Pastor Howard Tillman in Columbus, Ohio as he founded New Covenant Believers’ Church.
Darden served as an Associate Minister at New Covenant Believers’ Church for eighteen years. Darden was overseer for various ministries at NCBC, including the Worship & Arts Department, the church’s CARE ministry and the Deacons.
During his formative years of ministry, Darden traveled across the nation and globe, most notably to California, Texas, Atlanta, Barbados and Jamaica.
In 1998, Darden released his first CD entitled, “In the Key of Worship,” an instrumental project that revisits our most evocative and compelling hymns. Most recently, Darden, along with several NCBC musicians, created an instrumental project entitled, “Take a Listen.”
On February 24th, 2008, Darden founded Fresh Wind Worship Center where he serves as Senior Pastor.
Darden has been married for 29 years to his wife, Alette. They are the proud parents of two children, Lamahr and Alathea.
